The summer residence of electress Sophie Charlotte, which is over 300 years old, is impressive not just because of its French-inspired landscape architecture with sturdy box trees, but also because of its magnificent 17th/18th century architecture. The living quarters of Frederick I and his wife can be visited. The rear section of the park contains the mausoleum of Queen Louise, the wife of Frederick II.
The entrance fee is quite expensive, but it comes with a free audio-guide, which is a plus. The interior is well worth the visit. Gardens are very beautiful and free to visit!

Walk the gardens for free. Spectacular on a cold sunny winter's day.

Interesting & nice, especially ground floor since 1st floor rebuilt w/o keeping historical style.
